Brief Description
The booklet: Through French Eyes 1769 - 1840 records extracts from the accounts of French Navigators in New Zealand waters 1769-1840.

The contents include information about Survill 1769, Marion-Dufresne 1772, D'Entrecasteaux 1793, Duperrey 1824, Dumont d'Urville 1827 & 1840, Laplace 1831, Dupetit-Thouars 1838 and Lavaud 1840.

It is written in French. Within the pages of the booklet is a handwritten English translation from D'Urvilles voyage of 1827 describing Hawke's Bay by C J Bagley.
