Brief Description
A booklet written by William Lyon of Wellington that is a translation of an ancient Chaldee Manuscript.

It was found near the Fish Ponds at Government House, discovered in the early days of Sir George Grey's first administration. A prefixed glossary is attached to the front, supplied by Mr Thomas W Mackenzie, identifying the characters as depicted in the original manuscript. The manuscript was written after Sir George Grey had refused to bring into operation the Constitution Act of 1846, and established Nominee Legislative Councils for the two Provinces of New Ulster and New Munster under the Ordinance of the Legislative Council number IX, Session 1 in 1842.
