Brief Description
Booklet on New Zealand Politics in 1848 along with a translation of an ancient Chaldee Manuscript found near the Fish Ponds at Government House.

Being a reprint of the translation of the Celebrated Chaldee Manuscript. Discovered in the early days of Sir George Grey's first administration, to which is prefixed a glossary supplied by Mr Thomas W Mackenzie, identifying the characters as depicted in the original manuscript. The manuscript was written after Sir George Grey had refused to bring into operation the Constitution Act of 1846, and established Nominee Legislative Councils for the two Provinces of New Ulster and New Munster under the Ordinance of the Legislative Council No IX, Session 1 in 1842. Author was William Lyon of Wellington. First published in the Wellington Independent.
