Brief Description
a) Preservation of site of Captain Cook's landing at Gisborne: a typescript expressing concern over the Gisborne Harbour Board placing harbour installations on the land in front of Cook's landing site. Moved by W H Way, March 1965.

b) A newspaper cutting titled: Preserving New Zealand's Links with the Past. Published in The Hawke's Bay Herald-Tribune on Thursday, April 1, 1965. This article also expresses concern over the Cook monument being shut off from the sea by harbour installations and, more generally, the protection of historic places in New Zealand.
