Brief Description
a) A folded leaflet promoting the Napier Garden City Project coordinated by The Scinde Citizen's Committee, circa 1920s. The cover of this leaflet reads as follows: Away With Ugly Fences! The evolution of Napier into the Garden City Beside the Sea depends on you. It discusses the removal of fences and galvanized iron and the beauty of a hedge.

Listed on the back of the leaflet are the names of members of the Scinde Citizens' Committee: Reverend J A Asher, Chairman; Messrs L S McClurg; P R Amner; S W Hannah; R C Wright; L T Bisson; J Scheele; J Anderson; Reverend A Hodge; W A Armour; F W Triggs; W Forsyth; A Pallot; G R Foreman; H Latham; E A Williams. H S Cottrell - Honorary Secretary Selwyn Road, Phone 185.

Note: H S Cottrell's phone number, Selwyn Road in 1920 was 2652, however, Cottrell, J, Novelty Depot, Hastings Street - phone number was 185. In 1930 the number 185 did not exist - all the phone numbers were four figured. Therefore, the date of the Committee would be circa 1920s.

b) A single sheet, light blue leaflet carrying similar information about the Napier Garden City Project. Printed along the top of this leaflet are the words: By courtesy of the Competitions Committee this Announcement was printed on the inside back cover of the Program. Printed on the reverse of the leaflet is an image of a Norfolk Island Pine and the words: Sunshine and Sea Breezes! Napier.
