Brief Description
New Zealand Shipping Company Limited passenger list for the royal mail steamship Tongariro, sailing from London to Wellington, departure from London 1 May 1891 and from Plymouth 2 May 1891.

On the front cover of the tri-fold printed list is an illustration of a Māori warrior under a nikau palm in front of a river and mountains. In the centre of the page is an illustration of a ship on the ocean. Above this is the shipping company's name, flag and an illustration of mountains.

Inside on the left is information about the shipping company, its various branches and ships. The middle and right sections are a list of the passengers in First Saloon, Second Saloon and Third Cabin. Gives brief information about the ship, the sailing dates and the captain and surgeon.

On the back left flap is a blank log chart with areas for date, distance run, latitude, longitude and wind. On the back centre panel is a map of the world.
