Tucked into the front of the book are two loose sheets. One is to the Immigration Office of Napier certifying the amount to be recovered from Shaw Savill & Co on account of deaths of Immigrants on the Bebington. The other sheet is a double page that has writing on three sides. they are dated 7, 8 and 12 November 1874. All three are signed by the master, the the Mate and the Second Mate. The notes are copied from the official ships log and pertain to the illness, violence, medical care and imprisonment of the passenger Lydia Phillips.
