Brief Description
An order of the Native Land Court in the district of Hawke's Bay in the matter of Ani Heke alias Hine Whakaheke te Rangi.
At a sitting of the Native Land Court held at Wairoa, 1 February 1889 before John Alexander Wilson, judge and Karaka Tarawhiti assessor. An application for appointment of successors to Ani Heke as to Tutira Block containing 20.490 acres. The person entitled to success is Wi Nga Maiaia of Waiohiki near Taradale (father of the deceased). Ani Heke died 20 April 1887.
A letter is attached to the deed dated 1 March 1890 and addressed to John Brooking from J P Hamlin regarding certified copies of succession orders in the Tutira and Arapawanui blocks. In the letter it states that the deceased of the Tutira block is Ani Heke, the successor Wi Ngamaiaia; deceased in Arapawanui is Te Aka te Rangituhia and Wi Ngamaiaia is also the successor.
The appointments were both made by Judge Wilson. John Brooking has a note on the letter stating that there was no order having been made as to interest of Te Aka Te Rangituhia in Arapawanui.
