The diary focuses on farming and the Brabazon family life in Ormondville and Hawke's Bay. There are small drawings relating to each day's entry in the side column. E.g. a drawing of men crutching sheep. The entry written for the day was, Helped John finish crutching his ewes. Ear marked some of them, too late to finish.
