Brief Description
Two conveyances dated 14 November 1885, between Hemi Kakakino of Poverty Bay, and Charles Debeecham Bennett and Cholwell Dean Pitt both of Gisborne, regarding the estate of Karaitiana Takamoana, late Hawke's Bay chief.

The land blocks referred to in the first document are Nuhaka number two, 35,374 acres; Te Umumango number one, 600 acres; Maraetaha number two (no acreage given); Mangapoike number two, 29,782 acres.

The second refers to Te Umumango number one, 600 acres and Maraetaha number two (no acreage given).

Hugh J Finn, Solicitor of Gisborne drew up the deeds and they have been signed by Robert Watson, Solicitor and Fred Jones, Licensed Interpreter, both of Gisborne. There is a Māori translation included for each, signed by Fred Jones.
