Pictured is an earthmoving machine at work, man standing next to it. Huge rocks which make large trucks look small are among the spoil and rubble left by the 1931 earthquake at the foot of Bluff Hill. The material is being cleared from the old Breakwater road for use in reclamation work at the Port of Napier.
