About this object
Horse and cart loaded with crates outside the premises of F L Bone and the Bristol Piano Company in Heretaunga Street, Hastings. The crates, which are individually numbered, are identified as Dominion Xmas Parcels for general distribution to New Zealand [overseas] troops, and addressed to: c/o Lord Plunket, New Zealand War Contingent Assocn [Association], 11 Victoria Street, London, S.W. Eng [England].

Beside the cart, a dog is seated on two crates stacked on the road. Behind the horse, an unidentified man leans against a verandah post.

On the back of the photo mount is written: Lord Plunket GCMG KCVO. Gov. Gen. 20 June 1904 - 8 June 1910.
