Brief Description
Letter and envelope from Bernard Madden to his family in Napier dated 3 June 1944.

a) Bernard writes about evenings in Italy, thinking about Napier and the family, comparing sunsets in Egypt and Italy, going for leisurely walks, the local sheep farmers, a visit by Prime Minister Peter Fraser, attending a concert on base, weather in the area, signing up for a three week signalling course, getting more exercise, receiving airgraph letters, a parcel recently sent home, bargaining with local merchants and gives well wishes to members of the family.

Written on YMCA/National Patriotic Fund Board/On Active Service letterhead.

b) Letter is addressed to Mrs P J Madden, 21 Macdonald Street, Napier, Hawke's Bay. Includes a postage stamp and censor's stamp. Signed by Bernard Madden acknowledging prerequisites of sending post.
